Description

 

Richard Kaslow, M.D., M.P.H., is a professor of epidemiology in the UAB School of Public Health who directs the Program in Epidemiology of Infection and Immunity. He is also a senior scientist with UAB's Center for AIDS Research, Comprehensive Cancer Cancer, and Comprehensive Arthritis, Musculoskeletal and Autoimmunity Center. His research focuses on variations in genes for human leukocyte antigen (HLA), a group of molecules that orchestrate immune response. The work focuses on the role of these genes in human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and other infections.
