Dale Benos, Ph.D., is a professor in the UAB Department of Physiology and Biophysics. He holds secondary appointments in the departments of Cell Biology, Neurobiology and Physiological Optics. His research focuses ion channels and membrane-transport processes. His lab is focused on a number of disease states and the involvement of proteins in hypertension, stroke, cystic fibrosis, brain cancer and other disorders. Before coming to UAB in 1985, Benos was at the Harvard School of Medicine.
