John Burgess D.D.S. is the assistant dean for clinical research and the director of the biomaterials graduate program at the UAB School of Dentistry. He is an active investigator on clinical trials evaluating posterior composites, adhesives, fluoride releasing materials, impression materials and dental restorations. He maintains a part-time practice in general dentistry. Before coming to UAB, Burgess completed graduate training at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston and residency training in the U.S. Air Force. He is a diplomat of the Federal Services Board in General Dentistry and the American Board of General Dentistry.
