Lori Cormier, Ph.D., focuses her research on historical ecology, which explores the symbolic, social, and material interrelationships of cultures and their environments over time. Her research, teaching, and service concentrations include lowland South America (Amazonia), Alabama Choctaw, ethnoprimatology, hunter-gatherers, gender, and medical anthropology. Cormier is an associate professor in the UAB Department of Anthropology and Social Work.
