Rex Wright, Ph.D., researches the determinants and cardiovascular consequences of effort, which are believed to be linked to risk for negative health outcomes, including heart disease and hypertension. A persistent focus has been on the manner in which perceptions of ability impact effort and associated cardiovascular responses. His research has been published in Psychophysiology, Motivation and Emotion, Personality and Social Psychology Review, and The International Journal of Psychophysiology.
Wright is a professor in the UAB Department of Psychology.
