Cynthia Ryan, Ph.D., Ryan researches how breast cancer is portrayed in popular media. Her articles have been published in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), Journal of Medical Humanities, MAMM magazine and CR (Collaborations-Results) Magazine. She is an associate professor in the UAB Department of English.
