Shelia Cotten, Ph.D., is a sociologist who studies the social impacts of information and communication technologies and the interrelationships among psychosocial resources and well-being. Her work has been published in such journals as Social Science and Medicine, Journal of Family Issues, Cyberpsychology and Behavior and Family Relations. Cotten is an associate professor of sociology and associate director of the UAB Center for Social Medicine and Sexually Transmitted Diseases. Cotten is an associate professor in the UAB Department of Sociology.
