Welcome to UAB's Quantitative Literacy (QL) web site. Here you will learn what QL is, why it is important, and how UAB intends to help all our graduates develop their QL core competencies.
You can begin to get an idea of what QL is by answering some simple questions about your own QL competencies. You can access these questions by clicking the first link on the left of this page. They are NOT math problems so do not worry about having to dust off your algerbra or trigonometry knowledge. They are simply designed to indicate what it takes to be quantitatively literate.
Once you have answered the questions read about UAB's step-by-step strategy for integrating QL into the curriculum. Also check out the web resources for multiple perspectives and discussions of what QL is what other institutions are doing.
