Hematology
Samples submitted for hematology are analyzed using an Abaxis VetScan HMII® or Drew Hemavet 850FS® analyzer. Samples requiring additional testing will be submitted to an appropriate referral laboratory. All tubes must be adequately labeled and be accompanied by a completed submission form. Testing requires a minimum of 200 µl and only EDTA whole blood can be used. Please contact us prior to sample submission to schedule testing. CBCs (complete blood counts) or hemograms are $31.31 per sample.
Clinical chemistry
Samples submitted for clinical chemistry analysis are processed using an Abaxis VetScan® chemistry analyzer. Samples requiring additional testing will be submitted to an appropriate referral laboratory. All tubes must be adequately labeled and be accompanied by a completed submission form. Every effort should be made to avoid hemolysis, as it will interfere with certain tests. Only serum or heparinized plasma can be analyzed. EDTA plasma cannot be tested. Please contact us prior to sample submission to schedule testing.
A comprehensive profile requires a minimum of 130 µl of serum and includes alanine aminotransferase, albumin, alkaline phosphatase, amylase, calcium, creatinine, globulin, glucose, phosphorus, potassium, sodium, total bilirubin, total protein, and blood urea nitrogen. These profiles are $36.14 per sample.
