Project Description: The CaRES intern is expected to review outcomes related to all robotic surgical cases in the division of Gynecologic Oncology since 5/2006 including length of surgery, intra-operative and post-operative complications, estimated blood loss, post-operative pain, etc. A direct comparison will be made to patients undergoing standard open surgery and standard 2-D laparoscopic surgery during this same time period.
Intern's Anticipated Duties:
Duty 1: Review patient charts, anesthesia records, and operative notes
Duty 2: Create a database that will include the information listed above
Duty 3: Help analyze and present results, as appropriate
Preceptor will provide intern with access to the following: office or desk space; computer and printer; equipment needed to complete project; supplies needed to complete project
