Project Title: The Use of Seprafilm® Adhesion Barrier to Decrease Intestinal Complications in Gynecologic Oncology Patients

Project Description: We plan to investigate the outcomes of patients who receive Seprafilm® at the time of gynecologic oncology surgery. Seprafilm® Adhesion Barrier is indicated for the reduction of post-surgical adhesions in patients undergoing abdominal or pelvic laparotomy. Patients undergoing abdominal or pelvic surgery for a suspected gynecologic malignancy will recieve Seprafilm® per the manufacturer's instructions. Perioperative complications including bowel dysfunction and obstruction will be assessed. Patients who have a a laparoscopic placement of an intraperitoneal port will have their pelvis and abdomen assessed for adhesions.
