Project Title: Innate Cellular Immunotherapy for Glioblastoma Multiforme

Cancer Research: Brain
Project Description: The goal of this project is the development of effective strategies for immunotherapy of brain tumors using selected components of the patients' own immune cells or immune cells obtained from a close relative.
Intern's Anticipated Duties:
Duty 1: Separation and culture of donor-derived innate lymphocytes and evaluation of their anti-tumor effectiveness in patient-derived glioblastoma both in culture and in animals
Duty 2: Continuous evaluation of the patients' immune function during therapy for their brain tumor
Duty 3: Data analysis using standard statistical programs
Preceptor will provide intern with access to the following: office or desk space; computer and printer; laboratory work bench space; equipment needed to complete project; supplies needed to complete project

Background, education, experience, or expertise preferred: Cell Biology; Basic Knowledge of Lab Skills; Immunology; Basic Knowledge of Statistics and Data Management
