Preceptorship Field Experience - Executive M.S.
All students must complete a field experience at the conclusion of the executive program studies. This intensive two to three day “field trip” to a health care system or other health care related site serves as a capstone experience for the Executive MSHA Program.

These preceptorship trips promote opportunity for participants to see an area of health care that may be different from the one in which they currently work and to apply the knowledge and skills they have gained from the program as they learn about this new setting.

Previous field experiences have been held at the:

  • Intermountain Healthcare, Salt Lake City

  • Lovelace Health System, Albuquerque

  • Baylor Health System, Dallas

  • Carolinas Health System, Charlotte

  • Covenant Health System, Knoxville

  • Sentara Healthcare, Norfolk

  • University of Pennsylvania Health System, Philadelphia

Preceptorship groups have also visited Washington, D.C. to explore U.S. health policy; Toronto, Canada, to learn about the Ontario health system; and Milan, Italy to study and explore the Italian National Health Service.

Executive program tuition covers the cost of lodging, meals, and materials associated with the preceptorship visit. Transportation costs to and from the preceptorship site, are the responsibility of the participant.
