Michelle Brown is an Assistant Professor and Clinical Coordinator for the Clinical Laboratory Sciences Program. Her teaching responsibilities beyond clinical practice include Immunohematology and Laboratory Techniques. Previously, she taught Hematology and Body Fluid Analysis for the CLS Program at UAB. Michelle completed a B.S. in Medical Technology at Auburn University and a clinical internship at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Jacksonville, Florida. She has a Masters Degree from UAB in Clinical Laboratory Science where she concentrated on Immunohematology and Transfusion Medicine.
In her 10 years in the clinical setting at University Hospital, Michelle enjoyed working the Transfusion Service as a Supervisor, Medical Technologist, Therapeutic Apheresis Specialist, and Quality Coordinator. She also played an active role in the education of perfusionists, residents and nurses in the intricacies of transfusion therapy for various patient populations.
