Nutrition Fellowship Eligibility Criteria

      A two-year Fellowship for physicians in Clinical Nutrition is offered by the UAB Departments of Nutrition Sciences and Medicine.  Its objectives are to produce well-rounded academicians trained in all aspects of Clinical Nutrition and Nutrition Sciences, with emphasis on prevention of chronic diseases, particularly cancer. This will prepare them for careers in research, patient care, teaching and health promotion/disease prevention. The program is supported by funds from the National Cancer Institute, as a Cancer Prevention and Control Training Program, which places highest priority on training in research.


ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  • Graduate of U.S. or foreign medical school
  • Completed residency training (board-eligible or board-certified) in internal medicine or family medicine
  • Eligible for licensure to practice medicine in the State of Alabama
  • Only U.S. citizens or permanent residents are eligible for support from UAB; other applicants must have independent funding
