Alumni, friends and colleagues are invited to attend “An Evening Honoring Howard W. Houser” on April 9, 2009, at the Vestavia Country Club in Birmingham, Alabama. Proceeds from the seated dinner event will be used to complete the funding needed to establish the Howard Houser Endowed Professorship in Health Administration.
As founding chairman of UAB’s health services administration graduate program, and with more than 35 years of teaching and research in the field, Dr. Houser has impacted the evolution of health care throughout the state, nation, and world. In an effort to honor Dr. Houser, his career, and his contributions, the UAB School of Health Professions (SHP) and the Department of Health Services Administration are establishing the Howard Houser Endowed Professorship through generous donations from many health administration alumni, faculty, colleagues and health-care organizations. The creation of this prestigious position will extend Dr. Houser’s legacy and make his innovative spirit a permanent and integral part of the school.
