Vivian Pijuan-Thompson, PhD, named regional director for the ASCT

Dr. Vivian Pijuan-Thompson, assistant professor and director of the Cytotechnology Program in the UAB School of Health Professions, has been appointed as Regional Director for the American Society for Cytotechnology.

Dr. Vivian Pijuan-Thompson, assistant professor and director of the Cytotechnology Program in the UAB School of Health Professions, has been appointed as Regional Director for the American Society for Cytotechnology. Dr. Thompson holds a PhD in Pharmacology from the University of Miami as well as a Certificate of Cytotechnology. She received her B.S. in Biology from Barry University in Miami, Florida. Prior to joining the faculty of the Cytotechnology program in 1997, Dr. Thompson was a post-doctoral fellow both in Pharmacology and in Pathology at UAB.

 

The American Society for Cytotechnology (ASCT) is a collective voice for the profession and is committed to defining and promoting the profession of cytotechnology. The organization develops practice standards; monitors and evaluates legislative/regulatory issues and emerging technologies affecting the profession; and provides unique, practical educational opportunities pertinent to the practice of cytotechnology.
