SHP aims to work effectively with research partners to help advance community and state goals in education, health, quality of life, and economic development.
Research funding at SHP is rapidly approaching the $8-million level. The school has been either first or second for research funding received by schools of its type from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for each year since 1979. Since 2006, the NIH no longer provides comparative rankings of its medical research funding. The School of Health Professions continues to be among the leaders of schools of allied health receiving research funding from the NIH. For an example of past rankings, visit NIH Rankings.
