Jo Ann Clelland, PT, MS
A full-time faculty member in the Physical Therapy Department for nearly 34 years Jo Clelland has continued to teach several courses in the Departments of Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy at UAB since retiring. Jo also teaches the doctoral students in the PT Program at Alabama State University and the students in the PTA program at Jefferson State Community College in Birmingham.

Course Instruction: Therapeutic Heat and Cold, Basic Clinical Skills, Physical Therapy Evaluation and Intervention, and Prosthetics. Interests: Prosthetics; exercise physiology; sports injury; physiological response to thermal stimuli. Research: Clinical application of exercise physiology, topics include: strength assessment, delayed muscle soreness, height adjusted step test, scoliosis. Effectiveness of heat and cold modalities. Phantom Pain.

Dorothy (Dot) Pinkston PT, PhD, FAPTA
Devoted instructor in many courses. Responsible for many curriculum changes as initial Curriculum Committee Chair. Fulfilled numerous administrative duties when requested. Previously served meritoriously at Case Western Reserve University until the program was terminated. Essential writer and reviewer of many Division Accreditation documents.
