Randa Smith Hall, MBA, MSHA, is the Assistant Program Director and Instructor for the Department of Health Services Administration at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Beyond the operational responsibilities, she is responsible for directing the summer internship and administrative residency processes for the MSHA students and coordinates the annual MSHA Classic Golf Tournament and Preceptors Conference while also serving as the liaison to the Alumni Association of the Graduate Programs in Health Administration. In addition, Ms. Hall co-chairs the national Health Administration Case Competition (www.hacasecompetition.com), which brings together graduate students from across the country for a capstone experience and networking opportunity with national healthcare executives in Birmingham, Alabama.
Ms. Hall worked in a variety of health care settings for twelve years prior to joining UAB. She completed her Administrative Residency at Covenant Health System (Knoxville, Tennessee) and continued work there for five years. Then, she became a practice administrator for a dermatology practice in Pinehurst, North Carolina. Ms. Hall worked most recently at Medical Review of North Carolina (the federally-designated quality improvement organization for the state of North Carolina) as a Senior Associate for CQI and then as the Manager for Health Care Payment Assessment. Ms. Hall earned her graduate degrees in business administration and health administration from UAB and her undergraduate degree in health care management from the Culverhouse College of Commerce & Business Administration at The University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa.
