R. Lynn Holt, MS, C.G.C.
Program Director
R. Lynn Holt, MS, CGC, is the program director for the genetic counseling program. She was in clinical practice in UAB’s Department of Genetics for 11 years prior to joining the School of Health Professions to start the genetic counseling program. She has extensive clinical experience in prenatal, pediatric and cancer genetics. Her current clinical practice is as a member of UAB’s Cancer Center’s Lynne Cohen Clinic for the Prevention of Women’s Cancer.
Ms. Holt received her undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree in microbiology from North Carolina State University (1994) and her Master of Science degree in genetic counseling from the University of South Carolina (1996). She is an active member of the National Society of Genetic Counseling and the Association of Genetic Counseling Program Directors.
