UAB School of Health Professions

To continue with the standing commitment of the UAB President and the UAB Office of the Vice President of Equity and Diversity, the SHP Diversity committee was organized to support the initiative of Dr. Carol Garrison to “continue to strive for a more inclusive, representative campus not only because it is the right thing to do, but also because this is the most effective means of fulfilling our mission: to provide the very best education to our students, to conduct research that remains on the cutting edge and to render the most beneficial and far-reaching service to this community and state.”

Committee members are appointed by the Dean to represent the multiplicity of background and experiences that exist within the School. The Committee intends to facilitate educational and academic experiences to members of the School that will allow us to create an environment of understanding, open communication and respect among all.
